Automatic Mesh Processing |
Overview of the ProcessPreparing patient-derived atrial meshes for arrhythmia simulations often requires extensive manual editing. An automated pipeline linking anatomical preparation to simulation could facilitate computational studies across diverse patient anatomies.
MethodsThe pipeline integrated mesh correction and refinement, pulmonary vein and mitral valve cutting with several automated mesh-processing algorithms. It was applied to 115 patient-derived 3D left atrial triangular meshes. Processed meshes were used with a custom-developed toolset comprising algorithms for the automated induction of a diverse set of rhythms, simulator, and activation movie player, which can produce sinus rhythm, focal tachycardia, macro-reentrant flutter, and atrial fibrillation simulations.
